FTP Program

• WS_FTP is used to upload and download files in NEBIS webservers. This is a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client with a well-designed user interface. This software is very user friendly.

Telnet Program

• PuTTY is a window version of Secure Shell client. This software is recommended to use for remote login access, because both ends of the connection use authentication keys for users and hosts, and data is encrypted.

Note: Use of PuTTY is illegal in countries where encryption is outlawed.

File Compression Programs

• WinZip creates compressed, ZIP-compatible self-extracting EXE files which are ideal for electronic distribution and software installation.

Security Utility

• ZoneAlarm is an Internet security utility and firewall that allows you to detect all Internet access on your computer and control which programs have access to the Internet.

Mac Internet Software

• Fetch Fetch is a Macintosh-based FTP client. It can be used to send and receive files from various network hosts which support the TCP/IP File Transfer Protocol.

• NCSA Telnet is a TCP/IP connections package for use on the Internet. It allows simultaneous connections to telnet hosts using an implementation of the DARPA standard.
